Recognizes and commends Mr. Michael Melvin, named 2010 Georgia Economics Teacher of the Year by the Georgia Council on Economic Education, for his dedication to teaching economics at Starr's Mill High School in Fayette County, Georgia.

Coached the 2009 Starr's Mill High School Economic Challenge team to win state and regional competitions and finish third in the nation at the National Economics Challenge in New York City.

Helped Starr's Mill achieve among the highest End of Course Test scores in Georgia for the 2007-2008 and 2008-2009 school years.

Known for innovative teaching methods, including puppet shows on Mankiw's Ten Principles of Economics, and for inspiring all students, including college prep, learning disabled, and autistic students.

Sponsored by Senators Seabaugh of the 28th, Chance of the 16th, and Weber of the 40th; directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Mr. Melvin.
