Ogeechee Technical College was named Georgia's 2011 Technical College of the Year by the State Board of the Technical College System of Georgia, and President Dawn Cartee received the Perdue Award.

Enrollment grew by 10.3% between 2010 and 2011 to 4,470 students, full-time equivalent students increased by 18.2%, and 993 students graduated in certificate, diploma, and degree programs—an 11.6% increase from the prior year.

The award judging criteria included enrollment numbers, graduation rates, student retention, job placement, licensure rates, GED-to-college transitions, and cost efficiencies across technical education, adult education, economic development, and administration.

The Georgia House of Representatives formally commends the faculty, staff, and students of Ogeechee Technical College and invites President Dawn Cartee to be recognized on the House floor at a date designated by the Speaker.

The Clerk of the House is directed to transmit an appropriate copy of the resolution to President Dawn Cartee.
