Georgia House Resolution commending Dr. Michelle Reynolds Zeanah for receiving the 2011 Young Physician of the Year Award from the Georgia Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, which recognizes outstanding contributions in leadership, advocacy, research, and clinical care.

Dr. Zeanah earned her bachelor's degree from Birmingham-Southern College in 1996, her medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine in 2002, and completed her residency at the University of Florida Shands Jacksonville and Wolfson Children's Hospital in 2005.

Dr. Zeanah has been a partner at Bulloch Pediatrics Group in Statesboro since 2007 and actively advocates for children's issues including Medicaid, insurance reform, immunizations, and school bullying through regular engagement with state legislators.

She holds memberships and leadership roles in multiple professional organizations, including as a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, board member of East Georgia Physicians Group, and 2011 delegate of the Medical Association of Georgia.

Sponsored by Representatives Parrish (156th), Tankersley (158th), and Burns (157th), the resolution directs the Clerk of the House to transmit a copy to Dr. Zeanah.
