GA SB393

Amends the Act reconstituting the Board of Education of Ware County (originally approved September 18, 1991) to redraw the boundaries of its seven education districts based on 2010 U.S. Census data, using a redistricting plan identified as "waresb-2012."

Maintains the board's structure of seven members, each elected from one of seven education districts within the Ware County School District, effective January 1, 2013.

Current board members continue serving until the regular expiration of their terms and are deemed to represent their respective newly redrawn districts upon the Act's effective date.

Requires the Board of Education of Ware County, through its legal counsel, to submit the Act for preclearance under Section 5 of the federal Voting Rights Act of 1965 within 45 days of the Governor's approval.

Provides that any part of the school district not included in a described district is assigned to the contiguous district with the least population, and any non-contiguous part described within a district is similarly reassigned.
