Recognizes and commends the Honorable Marvin S. Arrington, Sr., on the occasion of his retirement from public service in Georgia, introduced by Senators James of the 35th and Seay of the 34th.

One of the first African American graduates of Emory University School of Law in 1967, with an undergraduate degree from Clark College and studies at the London School of Business.

First elected to the Atlanta Board of Aldermen in 1969, served as president of the Atlanta City Council from 1981 to 1996, and was appointed Superior Court Judge for Fulton County in 2002.

Recognized as "One of Atlanta's Top 25 Lawyers" by Atlanta magazine and among the "100 Most Influential People in Georgia" by Georgia Trend magazine, and received numerous awards including the Emory Medal and the Chief Justice Robert Benham Award.

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Judge Arrington, extending best wishes for continued health and happiness upon his retirement.
