Received her nursing certificate from Beaumont School of Nursing on September 21, 1954, and worked as a nurse for many years after moving to Atlanta

Married the late Bishop Dr. Robert Lee Evans on July 19, 1955, for 53 years until his passing in 2008; together they had six children, 13 grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren

Serves as a senior member of the Mother Board at First Christian Community Church in Northwest Atlanta, providing food, clothing, and toys to homeless shelters and managing the church's food distribution services; also active in the Thomasville Heights Civil League and Helene Mills Senior Center

Sponsored by Senators Jones of the 10th and Jackson of the 2nd; directs the Secretary of the Senate to transmit a copy of the resolution to Mother Evans
