Georgia House Resolution 1292, sponsored by Representative Brooks of the 55th district, honors the life and memory of Reverend W. Ron Sailor, Sr., and expresses the House's deepest regret at his passing

Reverend Sailor was a pioneer black broadcast journalist who worked in both radio and television, including roles at AM station WAOK, as a host at WIGO-AM (1340), as a general assignment reporter for Channel 11 WXIA, as owner of WIGO, and as news director at WALR-FM/Kiss 104.1

He retired from broadcast journalism in 2000 and became the full-time pastor of Christ the King Baptist Church in Dacula, Georgia, and started a radio station in 2008 at Frederick Douglass High School

Reverend Sailor is survived by his wife of 13 years, sons Christian Sailor and Chanz Wallace, daughter Khaleah Wallace, mother Rosetta Crowder, sister Brenda Sailor, and one grandson

The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to transmit a copy of the resolution to Reverend Sailor's family
