Ms. Cooper began as a teacher's assistant in 1971, became a teacher in 1973, was promoted to center director in 1985, and retired in July 2013, supervising up to 25 employees daily

Ms. Cooper attended the business college of Ashworth College and studied business education

Ms. Cooper also served on the Vidette City Council for two years and continues to serve as long-time secretary of Peel Grove Baptist Church

Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to transmit a copy of the resolution to Ms. Willie Mae Cooper
