The solicitor of the State Court of Spalding County shall be nominated in a general primary and elected at the general election, with the incumbent serving on January 1, 2017, continuing until a successor is duly elected and qualified.

The solicitor position is established as full-time, with eligibility requirements governed by O.C.G.A. Code Section 15-18-62.

The solicitor's salary is set at 90 percent of the yearly salary (base salary plus supplements) paid to the judge of the State Court of Spalding County.

The solicitor may appoint up to two assistant solicitors with prior approval of the Spalding County Board of Commissioners, with assistant salaries paid from county funds as approved by the Board.

The Act becomes effective on January 1, 2017.
