Georgia House Resolution 1271, sponsored by Representative Jones of the 53rd district, formally recognizes Judge Shondeana Crews Morris for her contributions to the State of Georgia

Judge Morris, a DeKalb County native, holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Georgia, an M.S. in Criminal Justice from Albany State University, and a law degree from Mercer University's Walter F. George School of Law

Joined the Fulton County District Attorney's Office in 1999, serving in the Trial Division and Major Felony Division on capital cases, and was promoted to Deputy District Attorney in 2008 overseeing the Crimes Against Women and Children Unit, Public Integrity Unit, and Community Prosecution Unit

Awards include 2008 Attorney of the Year, the 2009 Trial Award for Outstanding Advocacy in Capital Cases, recognition as a Daily Report 2009 Rising Star, and the 2014 South Fulton Outstanding Citizenship Award

Appointed in 2015 by Governor Nathan Deal as Judge of the newly created State Court of DeKalb County-Traffic Division
