Creates a 16-member Joint Study Committee on Standardizing the Start Date of Georgia Public Schools to examine how varied school start dates negatively impact Georgia's travel and hospitality industry, which supports over 425,000 jobs and generates $57.1 billion in annual economic impact

Committee membership includes chairpersons of House and Senate committees on Economic Development and Tourism, Education, and Appropriations, along with appointees from the Governor, Speaker of the House, President of the Senate, and State School Superintendent

Includes representatives from the tourism and business sectors: the Deputy Commissioner of the Tourism Division, the president/CEO of the Georgia Chamber of Commerce, the director of the Georgia Travel Association, and the executive director of the Georgia Association of Convention and Visitors Bureaus

Legislative members may receive allowances for no more than eight days unless additional days are authorized, with funding from House of Representatives appropriations; non-public official members may fund committee expenses and provide logistical and professional support

Committee must file any approved report with the Clerk of the House and Secretary of the Senate prior to its abolishment date of December 1, 2016
