Ellis held numerous roles at Delta, including training instructor, Fair Share Representative for In Flight, flight attendant interviewer, and Human Resources Representative in Tel Aviv during Delta's acquisition of Pan Am

She flew charter flights for high-profile clients, including White House Charters, the Atlanta Braves, the Atlanta Falcons, Bernie Marcus, and President Jimmy Carter

Ellis holds a bachelor's degree in music from Morris Brown College, a graduate certificate in nonprofit management from Georgia State University, and a Grant Writing Certification from Emory University

She served on the boards and advisory committees of multiple organizations, including Villages of Carver YMCA, Urban Youth Harp Ensemble, Debora H. Boyd Foundation, Cascade United Methodist Church, and SCLC Women
