Georgia House Resolution 1809 recognizes and commends Judge Patsy Y. Porter, a Fulton County State Court Judge and native of Atlanta, for her dedicated and lawful service to the State of Georgia

Judge Porter earned her law degree from Woodrow Wilson College of Law and her undergraduate degree from Georgia State University, and presides over both civil cases (medical malpractice, wrongful death, products liability) and criminal cases (DUI, domestic violence, theft)

She has been actively involved in numerous professional and civic organizations, including the Judicial Qualifications Commission, Atlanta Legal Aid Society Advisory Board, Georgia Association of Black Women Attorneys (past president), and the Gate City Bar Association

Judge Porter has received multiple awards, including the Leah Ward Sears Award for Distinction in the Profession, Judge With A Heart Award from the Minority Judges of Georgia, and the Pinnacle Leadership Award from The Fortitude Educational and Cultural Developmental Center, Inc.

The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to provide an appropriate copy of the resolution to Judge Porter
