Reverend Alexander holds a B.A. from Morehouse College, a Master of Divinity from Morehouse School of Religion, and Doctor of Divinity degrees from United Theological Seminary (Louisiana) and Morehouse School of Religion

Led civil rights activism including a bus boycott that integrated the Bibb County transit system in Macon and partnered to improve 109 blocks of real estate in Savannah; lifetime member of the NAACP and SCLC

Served 29 years as president of the General Missionary Baptist Convention of Georgia, representing over 800 churches, and was inducted into both the Atlanta Business League's Legends Hall of Fame and the International Civil Rights Hall of Fame at the Martin Luther King, Jr., National Historic Site

Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy of the resolution to Reverend Dr. Alexander
