Georgia House Resolution 1851, sponsored by Representative Tanner of the 9th district, recognizes and commends Dr. Larry Anderson, D.O., a fifth generation Georgia family medicine physician who served as Doctor of the Day for the General Assembly for over 25 years

Dr. Anderson served in the U.S. Army in 1967 during the Vietnam War as a door gunner in the 1st Cavalry Division, receiving six decorations and three unit citations

He is a founding physician of the Good Shepherd Clinic for the noninsured and served as a preceptor for Georgia medical students for over 25 years

Dr. Anderson held leadership roles as past president of the Georgia Osteopathic Medical Association, the Georgia Society of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians, and the Rotary Club of Dawson County, and was set to be installed as president of the American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians in April 2016

The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to provide an appropriate copy of the resolution to Dr. Anderson
