Chief McCormick was appointed by Governor Nathan Deal to represent Georgia at the 68th Annual Conference of the Governors' Interstate Indian Council, where he was elected as the organization's nationwide president

He was appointed to the Georgia Supreme Court Committee on Justice for Children and selected in 2018 to join the 26th delegation of U.S. law enforcement executives to train alongside the Israeli police force through the Georgia International Law Enforcement Exchange program

The Georgia House of Representatives formally commends Chief McCormick for his care, courage, sympathy, and selfless dedication to public service
