Georgia Senate honors the life and memory of Allene Harris Magill, who passed away on January 27, 2018, born December 27, 1943, in Tupelo, Mississippi

Served a 44-year career in education, including as executive director of the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and superintendent of three Georgia school districts

Twice named Georgia's Superintendent of the Year and received the F.M. Fulbright Outstanding Educator award from the Georgia Association of Educational Leaders

Served on the Board of Regents for the University System of Georgia and on the Education Turnaround Advisory Council as the state's chief turnaround officer for struggling schools

Directs the Secretary of the Senate to provide a copy of the resolution to the family of Allene Harris Magill
