Recognizes and commends Lieutenant Colonel David C. Simons upon his retirement from the Georgia Air National Guard after 35 years of military service across the U.S. Army, Maryland Army National Guard, and Georgia Air National Guard

LtCol Simons joined the Army in 1983 as a demolitions specialist with the 5th Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg, later earned his commission as a Second Lieutenant through the Maryland Military Academy

Served as Public Affairs Officer for the 165th Airlift Wing, with missions to Bosnia, Germany, Puerto Rico, Peru, England, France, Poland, and the Republic of Georgia, and responded to both 9/11 and Hurricane Katrina

Deployed three times, culminating in 2013 as the draw-down public affairs officer for the International Security Assistance Force-Afghanistan, serving as the highest ranking public affairs officer in country during overnight hours

Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide an appropriate copy of the resolution to LtCol Simons
