Georgia House Resolution commending Justice Keith R. Blackwell upon his retirement from the Supreme Court of Georgia, where he served since his appointment by Governor Nathan Deal in July 2012

Justice Blackwell previously served on the Georgia Court of Appeals (appointed by Governor Sonny Perdue), clerked for Judge J.L. Edmondson on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, and practiced law at Alston & Bird and Parker, Hudson, Rainer & Dobbs

Graduated as valedictorian from Cherokee High School and earned both his undergraduate and law degrees summa cum laude from the University of Georgia as First Honor Graduate

Served in numerous additional capacities beyond the bench, including Supreme Court liaison to the State Bar, chair of the Commission on Interpreters, member of the Governor's Judicial Nominating Commission, and advisor to the Georgia House Judiciary Committee on revision of the state evidence code

Directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy of the resolution to Justice Blackwell
