Georgia Senate recognizes the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) and its Georgia Wing for their volunteer service to the state, including missions in homeland security, disaster relief, search and rescue, counter drug operations, aerospace education, and cadet programs

The Georgia Wing comprises nearly 1,900 volunteer members across 43 squadrons and six groups, with an estimated volunteer hour value of almost $5.8 million in 2019

Georgia Wing members assisted with aerial response preparation for Super Bowl LIII, supported hurricane relief efforts for Hurricanes Dorian and Michael by photographing damage for FEMA, and deployed to Puerto Rico for disaster recovery

Georgia Wing squadrons earned the National Squadron of Distinction in 2008 and 2009, the Southeast Region Squadron of Distinction in 2010, and a National Commander's Citation for supporting the Deepwater Horizon response

The Secretary of the Senate is directed to provide a copy of the resolution to the Georgia Wing of the Civil Air Patrol
