Georgia House Resolution 912, sponsored by Representative Taylor of the 91st district, recognizes and commends Black Voters Matter for its dedication to expanding Black voter engagement and strengthening Black communities in Georgia

Black Voters Matter was co-founded by Cliff Albright and LaTosha Brown in late 2017 during the Alabama U.S. Senate race between Doug Jones and Roy Moore, after funders overlooked Alabama's rural Black belt region

The organization invested in 32 community-based organizations, resulting in increased Black voter turnout, and provides mini-grant funding for get-out-the-vote efforts, voter mobilization tools (texting, phonebanking, canvassing apps, bus tours), and network-building support

Black Voters Matter advocates for policies expanding voting rights, including increasing early voting, opposing voter ID laws, and restoring voting rights to formerly incarcerated individuals

The resolution directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy of the resolution to Black Voters Matter
