Beginning in the 2026-2027 school year, all Georgia public schools serving grades 6-12 must provide students at least one hour annually of evidence-based suicide awareness and prevention training, as well as at least one hour of evidence-based youth violence prevention training, which may be delivered in person, remotely, or digitally.

By July 1, 2025, the Department of Education must develop or contract for a statewide anonymous reporting program accessible 24/7 via mobile app and a multilingual crisis center, allowing any person to anonymously report dangerous, violent, threatening, or potentially harmful activity related to schools, students, or school personnel.

By January 1, 2025, the Department of Education must develop and publish lists of approved evidence-based training materials for both suicide prevention and youth violence prevention, in consultation with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, and must review the lists at least every 36 months.

Local school boards must adopt policies for suicide awareness and prevention, anonymous reporting implementation, and youth violence prevention training, and must require each public school with student clubs to designate a student-led youth violence prevention club focused on suicide prevention, violence prevention, and social inclusion.

School systems must submit annual reports to the Department of Education documenting the number of anonymous tips received, tip types, response actions taken, and disciplinary data disaggregated by school, gender, and race. No cause of action or specific duty of care is imposed by the act's provisions.
