GA HB738

Creates the Task Force on Workforce and Safety Net Integration within the Technical College System of Georgia, composed of 9 members appointed by the Governor (4), Speaker of the House (2), President of the Senate (2), and the chairperson of the State Workforce Development Board or designee.

Charges the task force with studying how to integrate workforce development programs and safety net programs, including exploring potential mergers of state agencies and developing an implementation strategy for a unified delivery system.

Requires the task force to consult with the Commissioner of Labor, State School Superintendent, and commissioners of human services, community affairs, community health, early care and learning, and public health.

Members serve without compensation or expense reimbursement, and the Technical College System of Georgia provides staff, research, and meeting facilities.

Requires a final report with recommendations to the Governor and General Assembly by December 31, 2025, at which point the task force is automatically abolished.
