Georgia House Resolution 1205, sponsored by Representative Mitchell of the 88th district, honors and commends Dr. Debra Farley for her leadership in economic development, education, and community service

Dr. Farley serves as associate executive director and certified business analyst with the Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center and Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce, where she has worked for 32 years

During her tenure, she initiated the Small and Minority Business Series, a four-week "mini MBA" training program, and created classes to help low- to medium-income participants start small businesses

Dr. Farley holds three degrees from Thomas Nelson Community College, Hampton University, and Cambridge College, and has received numerous awards including the Virginia SBDC State Star, Minority Business Advocate of the Year, and the President Barack Obama Legacy Lifetime Achievement Award

The Clerk of the House of Representatives is directed to provide a copy of the resolution to Dr. Farley
