Georgia House Resolution 1494 recognizes and commends Jessica Wilson of the Buford community for her extensive volunteer work and community contributions despite being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in her early twenties

Jessica Wilson founded the North Gwinnett Voice, a local newspaper featuring stories of good deeds and free promotion for nonprofits, while also providing youth in Buford and Sugar Hill opportunities to write and earn college scholarship money

She has volunteered at domestic abuse shelters, provided vehicles and housing to young homeless mothers, and motivated dozens of individuals to enter drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs

She serves as a state-approved licensed foster parent through Foster Care Piedmont, teaches Sunday school, mentors young aspiring writers and journalists, and supports small businesses and entrepreneurs in her community

The resolution directs the Clerk of the House of Representatives to provide a copy to Jessica Wilson
