GA HB1004

Expands state security guard protection to include the majority and minority leaders of both the Senate and House of Representatives, along with their immediate families, under the same provisions currently covering the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker of the House

Authorizes state-provided transportation for family members of legislative leaders when traveling with their respective leader, on state business, or when security considerations require it

Extends security protection to any General Assembly member and their immediate family if the Georgia Bureau of Investigation determines they face a credible threat to their safety or security

Amends Code Section 35-2-73 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated relating to the Security Guard Division of the Department of Public Safety

Takes effect upon approval by the Governor or upon becoming law without such approval
