GA HB1046

Prohibits business corporations, nonprofit corporations, partnerships, limited partnerships, and limited liability companies from engaging in "ballot issue activity" (supporting or opposing ballot questions/initiatives) or "election activity" (supporting or opposing candidates, political parties, or political committees)

Restricts the powers of these business entities to only those expressly granted by the Georgia General Assembly, replacing current law that gives corporations the same powers as individuals to conduct business

Declares any ballot or election activity conducted by covered entities to be "ultra vires" (beyond their authority) and void

Authorizes members, shareholders, partners, or the Attorney General to bring civil actions seeking injunctive relief or revocation/dissolution of the entity's charter for violations

Exempts bona fide news stories, commentary, or editorials distributed through broadcasting stations or print/digital publications, unless those media facilities are owned or controlled by a political party, political committee, or candidate
