Echols County Board of Commissioners will transition from district-based elections to at-large elections, with all five commissioners elected countywide by majority vote

Candidates must have resided in the county for at least 12 months prior to election and must specify which post (1 through 5) they are seeking when qualifying

Current commissioners serving from the three districts will become the initial post holders on January 1, 2027, with District 1 Posts 1-2 becoming Posts 1-2, District 2 Posts 1-2 becoming Posts 3-4, and District 3 becoming Post 5

The existing commissioner district plan (EcholsCC-2022) is repealed, eliminating geographic district boundaries for commissioner elections

Effective date is January 1, 2027, with current members serving until their terms expire and successors are elected
