Displaced federal employees in Georgia who lost jobs due to shutdowns, furloughs exceeding 30 days, position eliminations, base realignments, or workforce reductions would receive priority access to retraining programs and career transition services through coordination between the Georgia Department of Labor, Technical College System, and University System of Georgia.

Tuition or program costs may be waived, reduced, or subsidized for displaced federal employees at technical colleges and universities where determined permissible and financially feasible.

State agencies must interview all qualified displaced federal employees who meet minimum job requirements for posted positions, unless documenting a legally valid operational reason for not doing so.

Each state agency must annually report to the Department of Administrative Services the number of displaced federal employees who applied, interviewed, and were hired, with reports due to the Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Speaker by January 10, 2027, and each January 10 thereafter.
