Depositions taken within Georgia must be conducted before a certified court reporter as defined in Code Section 15-14-22, rather than simply before any officer authorized to administer oaths

Removes the requirement that depositions be recorded by "stenographic means" and replaces it with the requirement that recording be done by a certified court reporter

Depositions may still be additionally recorded by sound or video means, with the party taking the deposition bearing recording costs

Telephone or remote electronic depositions remain permitted only by stipulation of parties or court order
