Local governing authorities in counties or municipalities that have already approved Sunday alcohol sales by referendum may authorize museums to sell alcoholic beverages on Sundays at the same times as other retailers

Eligible museums must be located primarily in a building or district listed on the Georgia Register of Historic Places and hold a license for on-premises alcohol consumption

"Museum" is defined as an institution open to the public that stores and exhibits objects of historical, scientific, artistic, or cultural interest

Authorization requires the local governing authority to adopt a resolution or ordinance

Effective upon approval by the Governor or upon becoming law without such approval
