Walker County Board of Education members will be elected only by voters within their respective education districts, rather than by all voters across the entire school system

The board consists of 5 members, one elected from each of the five education districts, with each member required to be a resident of the district they represent

District boundaries correspond to the "WalkerSB-2022" redistricting plan referenced in the legislation

Vacancies occurring in the first two years of a term are filled by remaining board members until the next general election, when district voters elect someone to serve the unexpired term

Vacancies in the last two years of a term are filled by remaining board members for the remainder of the term
