Child care learning centers must carry liability insurance of at least $50,000 per person and $1 million per occurrence from an insurer authorized in Georgia

Centers that operate without required insurance coverage face civil fines of $1,000 per day

Proof of insurance coverage, including insurer name and policy number, must be provided to the Department of Early Care and Learning, to each client, and kept available at the center location

Early care programs without liability insurance must post notice of that fact in at least 1/2 inch letters and provide written notification to parents/guardians, who must acknowledge receipt in writing

Failure to post required notices, provide written notification to parents, or maintain acknowledgment copies subjects program owners to civil fines up to $1,000 per infraction
