Electric service providers cannot require customers with these devices to obtain prior approval, pay interconnection fees, install bidirectional meters, or pay additional metering fees

Utilities are not required to purchase or credit customers for any excess electricity generated above the customer's usage

Devices must meet National Electrical Code standards, be UL-certified, and include automatic shutoff features to prevent energizing the electrical system during power outages

Electric service providers are shielded from liability for any damage or injury caused by portable solar generation devices
