Establishes procedures for filling vacancies on the Legislative Oversight Committee for the Georgia Public Defender Council due to death, resignation, ineligibility, recall, or loss of standing committee chairmanship or Legislative Services Committee eligibility

Makes it unlawful for the Georgia Public Defender Council or its director to fail to cooperate with the oversight committee or provide requested information and reports

The 8-member oversight committee includes 3 House members appointed by the Speaker, 3 Senate members appointed by the Senate Committee on Assignments, and one member each from the House and Senate appointed by the Governor

Committee members must be selected within 10 days after the General Assembly convenes in odd-numbered years and serve until successors are appointed

Effective upon Governor's approval or upon becoming law without approval
