GA HB1437

Authorizes Georgia notaries public to perform notarial acts electronically, including attestations, acknowledgments, oaths, affirmations, verifications, and copy certifications

Establishes new definitions for "electronic notarial certificate," "electronic seal of office," and "electronic signature" to govern digital notarizations

Requires electronic seals to include the notary's name, commission number, commission expiration date, and the words "Notary Public, Georgia, Electronic Seal" in an appropriate file format

Permits notaries to affix electronic signatures on electronic notarial certificates using exactly the name shown on their commission, as an alternative to traditional ink signatures

Takes effect immediately upon approval by the Governor or upon becoming law without such approval
