GA HB1489

Amends the City of Douglasville charter to require city council candidates seeking election from a district to have resided in that specific district for at least 12 months prior to the election date

Maintains existing requirements that mayor and councilmember candidates must be at least 21 years old and city residents for 12 months before the election

Applies the 12-month district residency requirement to write-in candidates as well as regular candidates

Requires councilmembers to continue residing in the city during their four-year terms and remain registered and qualified to vote in municipal elections
