GA HB1501

Establishes maximum contaminant levels (MCLs) for PFAS chemicals in Georgia public water systems: 4.0 parts per trillion for PFOA and PFOS; 10.0 parts per trillion for PFHxS, PFNA, and GenX chemicals; and a hazard index of 1 for mixtures of certain PFAS.

Requires the Environmental Protection Division to maintain a public website displaying PFAS levels in each public water system, accessible via a prominent link on the Division's Drinking Water web page.

Mandates the Division submit an annual report to the General Assembly by December 31 comparing state MCLs to federal EPA standards and providing recommendations for revisions.

Requires the Division to promptly notify water utility companies when PFAS levels exceed MCLs, and utility companies must then notify all affected residents via U.S. mail.

Resident notices must include a brochure explaining PFAS, a chart of MCLs, notification of the contamination, and exact levels of each PFAS chemical exceeding limits.
