Salaries for the chief deputy sheriff, assistant chief deputy sheriff, and executive assistant to the sheriff in Cobb County shall be determined by the sheriff rather than set by statute or the governing authority.

Salary increases for these three positions require approval by both the sheriff and the Cobb County Board of Commissioners.

All salaries are paid in equal monthly installments from Cobb County funds.

The chief deputy sheriff, assistant chief deputy, deputies, and executive assistant remain entitled to any cost-of-living or merit increases approved by the county governing authority for county employees.

Amends the 1949 Act (Ga. L. 1949, p. 427) that converted Cobb County officials from the fee system to the salary system.
