Group life insurance policies in Georgia cannot exclude or restrict coverage for deaths of service members in the regular or reserve components of the U.S. armed forces, unless the death results directly or indirectly from war or acts of war

Amends Code Section 33-25-5 of the Official Code of Georgia Annotated, which governs provisions excluding or restricting liability for death in life insurance policies

Individual life insurance policies may still contain exclusions for war-related deaths, aviation deaths, hazardous occupations, residence outside continental U.S. and Canada, or suicide within two years of policy issuance

Effective date is the first day of the month following gubernatorial approval or passage into law without approval
