Local boards of education that approve new charter school petitions after June 30, 2025 will receive $100,000 incentive grants annually for three years, subject to appropriations

Local boards must provide written denial statements within 10 days (reduced from 60 days) to the charter petitioner, State Board of Education, and Office of Charter School Compliance, detailing reasons and deficiencies

Local school systems with over 10,000 students that deny two or more charter petitions subsequently approved by the State Charter Schools Commission may lose eligibility to renew their charter system status or strategic waivers for up to three years

Office of Charter School Compliance must prepare standardized guidelines and evaluation rubrics for local boards to use when reviewing charter petitions, and publish denial statements on its public website

State Board of Education must submit annual reports on charter school program status to legislative leadership and the Office of Planning and Budget by December 31 each year
