Law enforcement officers must provide the purpose of a traffic stop and the suspected violation when requested by the vehicle operator, after the operator has displayed their driver's license

The requirement only applies to stops for traffic-related offenses

An officer's failure to comply with this disclosure requirement does not invalidate an otherwise lawful arrest or prevent issuance of a traffic citation
