Georgia Department of Education must develop a mental health crisis plan to rapidly provide services to students experiencing violence, threats of violence, natural disasters, or other crisis situations

The plan must be developed in consultation with the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities, the Suicide Prevention Program, and mental health experts

Mental health crisis plan must be made available to all local education agencies by January 1, 2026

Department of Education is authorized to develop promotional materials, training programs, and curricula to train students and school personnel to recognize and report severe mental illness

Department of Education must adopt rules and regulations to implement these provisions
