Authorizes licensed dentists in Georgia to provide dental care through teledentistry, defined as synchronous real-time communication combined with store-and-forward technologies, with the patient and dentist in different physical locations within the state

Requires authorizing dentists to maintain a physical office in Georgia, establish a referral relationship with another in-state dentist for emergencies and follow-up care, and notify the Board of Dentistry of their intent to practice teledentistry

Limits each authorizing dentist to supervising a maximum of four dental hygienists via teledentistry at any time, with hygienists required to have at least two years of experience and maintain professional liability insurance

Mandates annual informed consent from patients explaining that teledentistry is not equivalent to an in-person clinical examination, and requires in-person exams before providing irreversible treatments or those with increased patient risk

Permits dental benefit plans issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2026, to cover teledentistry services, and prohibits insurers from excluding services solely because they are delivered via teledentistry or requiring teledentistry in lieu of in-person care
