Minimum base salary for certificated teachers and administrators with bachelor's degrees and no experience must be comparable to the national average living wage, effective July 1, 2026

State Board of Education must calculate the national average living wage using research-based data from at least three nationally recognized authorities

State Board must publish the national average living wage calculation and methodology on the Department of Education website by December 1, 2026, and at least every three years thereafter

Replaces the current standard that ties entry-level teacher salaries to wages of University System of Georgia graduates in comparable non-teaching positions

Act becomes effective July 1, 2025
