Authorizes local boards of education and governing bodies of public and private K-12 schools in Georgia to install at least one exterior key box at each school building, meeting Underwriters Laboratories Standard 1037

Key box locations must be determined in collaboration with local law enforcement and emergency management agencies to facilitate emergency access to buildings

Key boxes must contain all keys and access control devices for the entire school grounds, plus detailed maps identifying interior access points, critical utilities, AEDs, trauma kits, parking areas, athletic fields, and surrounding properties

Schools installing key boxes must establish audit mechanisms with law enforcement to track each instance the key box is accessed, and key box information is exempt from public disclosure

Local boards, schools, governments, and their employees receive immunity from civil liability for damages arising from key box installation and use, unless gross negligence or bad faith is shown
