Requires the Jackson County election superintendent to call a special election within 15 days when a vacancy occurs on the board of commissioners with at least 180 days remaining in the unexpired term

Persons elected in special elections take office immediately upon certification of results and qualification

Vice chairperson assumes powers and duties of chairperson if that position becomes vacant, serving until a successor is elected via special election

Remaining board members may appoint a qualified individual to temporarily fill any vacancy until a permanent successor is elected through special election
