Health benefit policies issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2026, must cover medically necessary orthotic and prosthetic devices for daily living activities, job-related activities, personal hygiene, and physical activities

Coverage limited to no more than 3 devices per affected limb per covered person during any 3-year period, including all materials, components, design/fabrication, training, and repairs

Devices less than 3 years old may be replaced if there is documented physiological change, irreparable damage, or repair costs exceed 60% of device cost; insurers not required to cover replacement due to misuse, neglect, loss, or theft

Cost-sharing requirements must be comparable to other medical devices and services; coverage classified as habilitative or rehabilitative benefits for essential health benefits purposes

Insurance Commissioner must submit implementation report to legislative committees by July 1, 2032, covering claims data from policy years 2026-2030
