GA HB886

Prohibits all Georgia state agencies and local government entities from submitting ransom payments to or communicating with individuals or organizations conducting ransomware attacks against them

Requires any state agency or local government experiencing a ransomware attack to immediately consult with the Georgia Technology Authority (GTA)

Designates GTA as the coordinating body responsible for providing guidance and managing the response to ransomware incidents affecting government entities

Mandates affected agencies provide GTA with any information necessary to appropriately address the ransomware response

Applies broadly to all branches of state government, public universities, technical colleges, counties, municipalities, school districts, sheriff's offices, and other local public bodies
