Military veterans with honorable or general discharges can obtain immediate Georgia professional licenses in trades including electrical contracting, plumbing, conditioned air, low-voltage, utility, and residential/commercial general contracting based on qualifying military specialties or certifications

Application deadline extended from 2 years (or 180 days for general contractors) to 4 years after military discharge, with board discretion to grant further extensions for health, hospitalization, or emergency circumstances

Licensing board divisions must identify qualifying military specialties by January 1, 2026, publish the list on the Secretary of State's website, and review it annually beginning in 2027

Eliminates the previous committee structure (division director, Governor's Office of Workforce Development, and board members) in favor of direct board division responsibility for determining equivalent military credentials

Applicants must still meet all financial and insurance requirements, and after initial licensure are subject to standard renewal provisions
